I am an attorney and I am looking to buy my first home. I have a close family member who is a realtor but want to avoid naming a broker on the offer so I can reap the benefits of the commission. I have been told that I am unable to represent myself unless I have my broker’s license, is this true? What about if the commission check is made out to my law firm as opposed to myself, does that make a difference? Does anyone know of any authorities that I can reference in my argument regarding this issue?

Btw, it is not exactly a “wrongful termination” i was forced to worked clock off, given no lunch break during long hours. I reported it to district manager, later i was terminated.
they just thought i am troubled, and afraid about i would tell other employees to do the same thing.

In a (not my fault at all) car accident in Kentucky. How much of a percentage does an attorney normally collect? Is 35% of the gross if settled or 40% if suit is filed the norm? Plus court costs and other little things. It seems to turn out they get 50% and I get to use mine to pay medical bills.

The local bar association does not work like that.

Life goes on asked:

My family wishes to withdraw our attorney on a very important case, for which he has done very little if anything at all, with the intention of hiring an attorney more specified for the type of case that it is. On the other hand, we wish to keep him on an entirely different case that is already 2 years in the works. What is the best way to do this without offense so that he remains affective in the other case?

After winning my personal injury case in court, I waited a year for the attorney to tell me there is no money. How can I check and see if all this is true? The defendents went bankrupt.

I am assuming here that an attorney is the same thing as a lawyer, but I don’t know how to become one. I do know enough about nurses so no need to reply with that info.
