What should you do if your supervising attorney tells you to do something unethical?
Filed Under legal | Comments Off
This is the question given to me…
Your supervising attorney asks you to release to the press a letter from a third party to the press. The attorney says, “I’ll finally get even by truely embarassing that S.O.B.” What should you do?
Please do not respond if you are not sure, or you are goign to say something stupid!

What is the role of a defense attorney in a military trial?
Filed Under Military | Comments Off
I am the defense attorney in a mock of the My Lai trial, and need to know the attorney’s role.
This is for an 8th grade enrichment class and I don’t know what the military defense attorney’s role is. Is the role the same as any defense attorney?

Disability Law Discrimination
Filed Under Business :: Legal | Leave a Comment
There is a law which is placed by the federal government which prohibits any kind of discriminations on the basis of an individual being disabled. This is the disability law, usually referred to as being the Americans with disabilities act. If you would happen to discriminate against an individual because of their disability, you could be in trouble on a federal level as a result. There may also be some regulations that are in place in your state which go above and beyond whatever this particular law has to say. They all, however, must agree with the federal law.

What kind of attorney would I get to bring a suit against the state for wrongful imprisonment?
Filed Under legal | Comments Off
A family member did 3 years in prison, and then the Supreme Court overturned the convictions, saying he did nothing criminal. What area of law would I find an attorney to sue the state? In other words, would I get a personal injury lawyer….civil litigation….criminal?

I called an attorney and they told me USD$1600. They let you make payments, but won’t file until the whole thing is paid. Is that too much or just right?

How do you find out what attorney drew up a will for a deceased family member?
Filed Under legal | Comments Off
My husband’s uncle passed away and there is speculation that he had a will drawn up but no one knows where it is.
Would there be a way to find out what attorney he used through the court system? How would one find out if someone has had a will drawn up through the legal system?

What happens if you don’t pay attorney fees after the attorney assists you with a case?
Filed Under legal | Comments Off
A friend of mine was involved with a criminal trespass case in which he visited an attorney for advise. At no time did he advise this attorney that he wanted his representation. When his court date came, the attorney was there and assisted with the case. There was no contract signed or anything of that nature. This happend in 2003. Bills are still being sent to his house from his attorney, but he has not paid anything.

My mother passed away, was in nursing home, went to hospital, then back to nursing home, then went back to hospital. Don’t know when she passed away, at the nursing home or hospital. No one will give me info on what happened. Neither place will give the cause of death. What kind of attorney will I need? Please someone answer, thanks.
